first class

melt. started with a mom who refused to settle. mainstream candles were full of chemicals and scents with all the personality of a dial tone — so she started pouring her own. small batches, real ingredients, white lake, michigan.

every candle still has to pass one test before it ships: "would we burn this in our own living room?" any hesitation — any at all — and it gets re-poured. the founder (the family calls her boss nose) has never once softened this policy. ask her husband about his "innovative" bacon candle pitch. actually, don't. he's still healing.

the setup

· flat, heat-safe surface — it's a steel can, it gets warm, that's physics
· away from drafts, curtains, pets with agendas, and small unsupervised humans

the first burn (this one's sacred)

· block out 2–3 hours and let the wax melt all the way to the edges
· wax has a memory. rush the first date and it tunnels forever. we've seen it. it's sad.

every burn after

· trim the wooden wick to 3–4mm — shorter than feels right, trust us
· four hours max per session. it needs rest. honestly, so do you.
· never leave it unattended — it's a tiny fire, not a houseplant

lights out

· pop the lid on to snuff it — one click, zero smoke plume, deeply satisfying
