FAQ

everything people ask us, answered honestly. if it's not here, it's probably a secret (it's not — just ask).

orders & shipping

order by 2pm est on a weekday and it ships the same day (after that, next business day). standard delivery takes 5–8 business days from there — expedited and overnight options exist for candle emergencies. you'll get tracking the moment it ships, and you can follow it on our track my package page.

orders over $75 ship free — our treat. and orders over $50 get a free 2oz mini candle tossed in while supplies last, because we like you.

not yet — we currently ship within the us only. international shipping is genuinely on the way, though. join the newsletter and you'll be the first to know (and we don't deliver to space yet either, but who knows).

if it hasn't shipped yet, almost certainly. message us with your order number as fast as you can and we'll catch it before it leaves the studio. once it's on the truck, it's committed to the journey.

ugh, the classic. first: check porches, side doors, mailrooms, and that one neighbor who collects packages. carriers also sometimes mark things delivered a day early. if it hasn't turned up in 48 hours, contact us with your order number and we'll hunt it down or make it right.

we're sorry — and we've got you. snap a photo of the damage (box included) and send it with your order number through the contact page within 7 days of delivery, and we'll ship a replacement free of charge. hold onto the packaging until it's sorted.

candle stuff

that's the wooden wick doing its thing — a tiny fireplace for your coffee table. it's supposed to do that, and honestly it's half the reason we use them.

on the first burn, let the wax melt all the way to the edges of the tin (2–3 hours) — wax has a memory, and a good first burn prevents tunneling for the rest of the candle's life. after that: trim the wick to 3–4mm before each relight, and keep burns under 4 hours.

probably! wrap a ring of foil around the top of the tin with a hole in the center, light it, and let it burn until the surface levels out — the trapped heat re-melts the ledge. then follow the full-melt-pool rule going forward and it won't happen again.

rough numbers: the 16oz goes for a very long haul of cozy evenings, the 8oz is your steady weeknight companion, and the 2oz mini is a generous test drive. exact hours depend on how you burn (see: wick trimming, melt pools, the whole ritual) — but treated well, they last.

ninety percent of the time this means the wick is too long or drowning in wax. trim it short — 3–4mm, shorter than feels right — tip out any excess melted wax onto a paper towel, and relight by holding the flame at the wick's base for a few seconds. it'll catch.

nope — that's frosting, and it's the signature of real soy wax. natural wax crystallizes as it cools, especially with temperature swings in shipping. it burns exactly the same and it's proof we didn't cut it with the weird stuff.

because they're perfect: sealed tight for shipping, recyclable, and the lid keeps dust off your wax between burns. also, we think they look extremely good on a shelf. that part's not an accident.

ingredients & safety

100% soy blend wax, natural wooden wicks, and premium fragrance oils. phthalate-free fragrance, no parabens, no toxins, vegan and cruelty-free — nothing you'd have to google, nothing we wouldn't burn in our own living rooms.

our ingredients are the clean kind, but every open flame deserves respect: burn on a stable surface, out of reach of paws and small hands, in a ventilated room, and never unattended. (a curious cat and a lit candle is a physics experiment nobody ordered.)

both. no animal products, no animal testing — just soy, wood, and fragrance. lil sniff tested every scent, but he volunteered.

returns & everything else

the short version: unused candles can come back within 30 days for a refund or exchange. the friendly walkthrough lives on our returns & exchanges page — but the spirit of it is: talk to us. we're candle people, not a call center.

the fastest route: take the scent quiz — sixty seconds, no wrong answers, and it reads your mood scarily well. the scenic route: browse the moods and pick the one that feels like your evening.

candles are the world's most reliable gift and we take that duty seriously. grab a candle (the 2oz minis make dangerous stocking stuffers), and if you need something for the person who has everything — everyone has a mood.
