How to Gift-Wrap a Candle (Even If You Can't Wrap)
confession from the workshop: we make candles, not origami. if your wrapping skills peaked at "gift bag with tissue paper," good news — a candle tin is the most forgiving object in the gifting universe. no corners. no weird shapes. here are four looks, ranked by effort.
level one: the ribbon and tag (90 seconds)
our matte tins are the wrapping. one ribbon around the lid, one hand-written tag, done. this is genuinely how we'd do it, and we've seen the tins — they like the attention.
level two: the kraft paper cylinder (5 minutes)
roll the tin in kraft paper like a very easy burrito, twist the ends like a giant candy, tie each twist with twine. the candy-wrapper look lands every time and hides nothing you need to hide.
level three: the mini bundle (10 minutes)
three 2oz minis, stacked, wrapped in one fabric square (furoshiki-style — one knot on top). it looks artisanal and reuses zero tape. the fabric becomes part of the gift.
level four: the fake gift basket
candle + mug + the good chocolate, nested in a bowl they also get to keep, clear wrap optional. the bowl does the structure, you take the credit.
the part that matters
whatever the wrapping, light-test the scent first (ten minutes, then lid on). the tin holds the scent, and the unwrap comes with a preview. presentation fades; "oh wow, smell this" is forever.
